MCLEAN, Va., May 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- QinetiQ North America today announced the appointment of David Shrum as senior vice president and general manager of its engineering and life-cycle management business unit. In this new role, Shrum will be responsible for revenue and profit generation, customer satisfaction, and employee health and welfare for the Huntsville-based business unit.

Shrum recently joined QinetiQ North America in March 2011 to lead the business development efforts in Huntsville, before being appointed to this new role. He joined the company from Camber Corporation, where he was vice president and division manager of modeling simulation and training.

"His breadth and depth of experience makes him the ideal candidate for this role, which I am confident will lead to a great deal of success for our Huntsville operations."

Prior to his time at Camber, Shrum spent five years as the vice president of land forces at Northrop Grumman's electronics sector where he lead domestic and international business, strategic planning and program execution. Additionally, Shrum spent over 20 years at Lockheed Martin in a variety of roles, but most notably as the electro-optics fire control program director. Prior to that, he spent 10 years with Sikorsky Aircraft.

Shrum holds an MBA from the University of New Haven and a bachelor's degree from the University of Connecticut. Shrum is also a member of the Association of the United States Army, the American Helicopter Society and the Army Aviation Association of America.
