QuickFire.TV Launches at TechCrunch Disrupt SF 2014
The fastest commercial video transcoding service on the planet is now online.
SAN DIEGO, Sept. 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- QuickFire.TV today announced participation in TechCrunch's Disrupt SF 2014 Startup Battlefield, and the general availability for the QuickFire.TV video transcoding service.
"The world no longer watches TV from the living room," said Steve Watanabe, Senior Director of Product for QuickFire.TV. "Viewers want to watch what they want, when they want, on the device of their choosing. This requires video transcoding much faster than what was available prior to QuickFire.TV's 10X real-time capabilities."
QuickFire.TV eliminates the video processing bottleneck. Using proprietary technology and advanced computing techniques, QuickFire.TV processes video at speeds up to 10x faster than real-time. QuickFire.TV can transcode a 30 minute program into 15 outputs in under 3 minutes, versus the fastest competitors, who take 15 minutes or longer.
TechCrunch Disrupt SF 2014 is TechCrunch's sixth annual conference in San Francisco.
The format combines top thought-leader discussions with new product and company launches. Morning executive discussions debate technology-driven disruptions in many industries, while the afternoons are reserved for the Startup Battlefield, where some 30 new companies will launch for the first time onstage, selected to present from numerous applications received from around the world. The winning company will receive a $50,000 grand prize and the Disrupt Cup at the conclusion of the conference. The conference is September 8-10, 2014 at the Pier 48, San Francisco, CA 94158.
