Quixey Launches Sponsored Apps Program Sponsored Apps Combines User Intent with Utility to Surface the Right Apps at the Right Time
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., June 27, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Quixey, The Search Engine for Apps, today announced Sponsored Apps, a new advertising product that allows apps to target potential users at the point of discovery. Currently in beta, Sponsored Apps works by matching app ads to the most relevant user at the moment they are most likely to download. Advertisers interested in participating in Sponsored Apps can submit their information to Quixey at www.quixey.com/advertisers starting today.
Sponsored Apps, leveraging Quixey's Functional Search™, is the first-ever advertising technology that targets a user based on the intent of their search. Intent targeting works by surfacing sponsored app results that are relevant to that particular search query, making it more likely for the user to click and download an app.
"The millions of apps already in the ecosystem continue to multiply across platforms, and as they do, the clutter also intensifies. It's now essential to provide users with the most relevant apps for their needs, right when they need them," said Richard Gregory, Quixey's EVP of Revenue. "With in-app ad spend poised to reach 7 billion dollars by 2015, Quixey aims to help the developer, the advertiser and the user -- traditional in-app advertising models which often display distracting banner ads don't accomplish that. Successful app discovery tailored to intent is the critical solution."
Quixey's partner network, including Microsoft, Sprint, Ask.com, and many others, currently powers more than 100 million queries per month across platforms such as Android, iPhone, Windows Phone, and the web. Sponsored Apps will now appear on a subset of Quixey's partner network. "Because Quixey's search engine is only for apps, advertisers and developers have an innovative and powerful "app context" to reach users in the market for apps across our publisher network. At this volume of monthly searches, advertisers' ability to target by keyword and category provides a unique opportunity for their app to be discovered in a manner not available through any other app advertising solution," said Jim Delli Santi, Quixey's Product Director of Monetization.
Sponsored Apps is available to app developers, agencies, brands with apps, and others interested in app advertising. Quixey is looking for key beta advertising partners in each category that want to innovate and help create the next generation of app advertising.
"By 2015, mobile app downloads are forecasted to reach over $100 billion, however, the big challenge still facing many mobile advertisers is how to create effective ads that are relevant, targeted and useful," said Michael Becker, North American Managing Director of the Mobile Marketing Association. "The mobile ads of the future will have greater interactivity, better analytics and will have beautiful design, intended to help the end-users discover applications that are valuable to their lives."
