Ram Racing And Make-A-Wish® Create "Diamonds For The Decade" To Celebrate 10th Anniversary Of MB Chicago Hot Chocolate 15k/5k
The Legacy Experience Announced For Returning Runners
CHICAGO, Aug. 17, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Ten exclusive diamond-trimmed golden race medals, valued at over $1000.00 a piece, and another 500 diamond keychains are at stake for runners signing up for the MB Chicago Hot Chocolate 15k/5k according to RAM Racing, the event's owner and leading race producer in the United States.
"We're 'Blinging' in our 10th Anniversary in a sparkling and memorable way," assured Steve Ginsburg, RAM's CEO. "Over one million previous Hot Chocolate runners know our goody bags are independently acknowledged as the best in the endurance industry, but for this special 10th Anniversary celebration, we wanted to do even more. So, in cooperation with our new charity partner, Make-A-Wish®, we created the "Diamonds For The Decade" promotion to give runners added incentive to sign up for the October 29, 2017 race and help raise more money for kids with dreams."
The traditional Hot Chocolate 15k race medal that looks like a foil-wrapped chocolate bar now has 150 single-cut accent diamonds added to it for the special give-away. The glitzy anniversary medals will go to ten runners randomly selected by Make-A-Wish after registration closes in October. Participants increase their chances of earning the diamond medals in any of seven different ways, including by raising money for Make-A-Wish.
A random draw from both 5k and 15k registrants also determines who receives one of the 500 super premium keychains shaped like Chicago's iconic "Bean' sculpture that feature one diamond embedded in each of the gifts.
An annual favorite on runners' calendars, alumni runners constituted over 70% of the approximately 40,000 participants in last year's Chicago Hot Chocolate Race. Ten people have toed the line at all 10 previous Hot Chocolate races in the Windy City. To recognize those loyal runners, RAM Racing unveiled a new program, The Legacy Experience, which offers a tiered list of extra keepsake free rewards for returning athletes. The 10 individuals who have run every single Chicago Hot Chocolate event are slated to receive an exclusive Hot Chocolate Legacy hoodie, a commemorative photo frame, a special 10-year Legacy medal, a Legacy novelty race bib, and one free entry to any race in the 2018-2019 Hot Chocolate 15k/5k Series highlight the gift.
The Legacy Experience also extends the gift program to racers who will run their 3rd or 5th consecutive Hot Chocolate event this fall (regardless of the city).
The Hot Chocolate Series originated with a single Hot Chocolate Race staged in Chicago in 2007. RAM expanded the Hot Chocolate concept to four cities in 2012 and has been adding races by popular demand ever since. The 2017-2018 season sees Hot Chocolate visiting 19 cities and includes its first-ever international stop on January 6, 2018 in Mexico City.
The season launches October 1, 2017 in Denver. The MB Chicago Hot Chocolate is the second race in the series.
