RCC Associates Again Ranked #1 in Top 25 Women-Owned Business List in South Florida
DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla., Sept. 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- For the second time in two years South Florida General Contractor RCC Associates has been ranked #1 in a South Florida "Top 25 Women-Owned Businesses" ranking.
For company president and CEO, Beverly Raphael, the journey to the top has been a group effort supported by a well-defined company culture sustaining employee growth and on-the-job mentoring. It's of little surprise that RCC Associates is ranked yearly as one of South Florida's Best Places to Work. The firm currently employs 90.
Diverse in its ability to manage highly complicated construction for a wide variety of commercial categories ranging from restaurants and retail to movie theaters, nightclubs, spas, fitness centers and boutique hotels, RCC Associates is equally diverse in that it is one of the few woman-owned construction firms in the country. That being said, RCC's female associates make up 33% of the company with many of the women holding key management positions.
Over the past 45 years, RCC grew from a core clientele comprised of regional, national and international retail customers and has continually added an ever-widening market base, first with a restaurant construction division (which now represents more than half of RCC's business) to a newly introduced division focusing on hospitality.
Today RCC Associates is considered among the nation's most sought-after restaurant general contractors, having built 375 restaurants nationwide. Overall the firm has built more than 2,500 projects in 30 states. Especially active for the general contractor, Miami has been a major region for new commercial construction, including Brickell City Centre and the Dolphin Mall's new restaurant plaza.
A highly recognized businesswoman, Raphael was honored in 2013 as the Entrepreneur of the Year by the Wharton Club of South Florida as well as being inducted into the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business Hall of Fame at Nova Southeastern University in 2011 and was a recipient of the Sun-Sentinel's Excalibur Award and Ernest & Young's Entrepreneur of the Year in the construction division.
She said of the recent #1 ranking: "It is always an honor anytime we have been recognized for bringing value to our community or industry."
