SAN JOSE, Calif., Nov. 21, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Realtor.com®, the leader in online real estate, operated by Move, Inc. (NASDAQ: MOVE), today announced that its realtor.com® international website was honored with a Global Achievement Award by the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) during NAR's International Night Out Gala on Nov. 9 in San Francisco. The Global Achievement Award is presented to companies achieving excellence in global business services by fostering the exchange of timely and accurate real estate information across borders and helping to create and grow international relationships among real estate professionals.
"Our international business services initiative has concentrated on delivering the best listing information and tools to connect buyers, sellers and REALTORS® across the global marketplace," said Eleonore Rojas, vice president of partnerships and product integration for realtor.com® and a driving force of the realtor.com® international site. "We are deeply honored to be recognized by the NAR community for our role in helping provide REALTORS® with a platform to market listings to the growing international audience and to connect with customers in their native languages and familiar metrics. We have had tremendous adoption since the launch of realtor.com® international three years ago with more than 1 million non-U.S. monthly visitors to our sites."
Realtor.com® international includes international homes for sale, land, commercial and rental listings from the United States and 36 additional countries, along with international data content aggregated monthly. The site displays search options, listing information translations, multiple home size conversions and 22 different currencies. The 11 languages currently supported are: English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, German, Dutch, Chinese, Russian, Korean and Japanese. The website also incorporates and accounts for key real estate market differentiators across countries and cultures, such as units of measurement and room count (number of bedrooms versus total number of rooms), to enable real estate agents as well as consumers to make informed choices based on the parameters most familiar to them.
"Our website provides accessible information to consumers and the ability to connect buyers and sellers," Rojas said. "We are extremely proud of the progress that has been made, and we will continue to expand internationally."
