Record Breaking $2 Million Donation to Special People Special Needs Foundation
DENVER, March 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- On Saturday, March 7, 2015 at the Kick-off event for Special People Special Needs Foundation, Brian Stevens of Marlborough, MA, announced during "An Evening to Remember" that the Stevens Family is donating $2,000,000 to the foundation. The gift is one of the largest single donations to a new charity. Though the event was free for all guests and was not a fundraiser, the surprise donation was cheered by all who attended.

Samantha Marsha Stevens who has Down syndrome was named World Ambassador for the foundation and will represent the foundation by helping advocate around the world for people who are considered different. Samantha received the lifetime award at the event and her photos and travels will be documented on the foundation website. Her mother, Kathy was moved to tears and happily accepted the award with husband Brian on behalf of their beautiful daughter Samantha.
Later in the evening, foundation president Trish Morris, shared a story about a sweet girl by the name of Cassidy Kennedy and her mom who live Florida. Cassidy has no friends and gets bullied at school because she is different. This beautiful 10 year old, who was born with dwarfism, scoliosis & alopecia, wants to be liked and accepted for who she is. Her mom is excited that Cassidy was selected to be one of the first Faces of the Foundation. Cassidy's story will be shared on www.spsnfoundation.org website where she will have her own blog for her new Colorado friends to stay in contact. An additional surprise for Cassidy & her mom - the Stevens Family offered to take them as their guests to Disney World this summer.
