Red Lion Hotels Announces New Franchise in Cathedral City, California

SPOKANE, Wash., July 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Red Lion Hotels Corporation (NYSE: RLH) announced the company has signed a franchise license agreement with the owners of a hotel in Cathedral City, California.

"This hotel is well-located in the Palm Springs region of Southern California, an area we are sure Red Lion guests will appreciate," said Ron Burgett , Executive Vice President of Brand Development for Red Lion Hotels Corporation.  "Red Lion historically has had a strong brand presence in California and we are pleased our network of hotels is expanding there."

In fall 2012, the Quality Inn & Suites Date Palm, 69151 E. Palm Canyon Dr., will convert to Red Lion Hotel Cathedral City.  Cathedral City is approximately seven miles southeast of Palm Springs.

The future Red Lion Hotel Cathedral City is a 97-room select service hotel with approximately 750 square feet of meeting space. Among other highlights, the hotel has an outdoor pool and sundeck and is surrounded by more than 100 golf courses in the region.  The hotel is owned and managed by Sang and Connie Chae of WR Management Co., based in Bellevue, Wash.

Ron Burgett joined Red Lion Hotels Corporation earlier this month and is leading the franchise and lodging development program.  His primary responsibility is expanding the Red Lion footprint via the signing of new franchises.  Burgett is also overseeing relationships with the company's current franchise owners, including ensuring properties maintain Red Lion brand standards and maximizing franchisees' participation in Red Lion network benefits.  Burgett replaces the former Senior Vice President of Lodging Development for Red Lion Hotels.
