LICENSING AGREEMENT SUPPORTS REDKNEE'S GROWTH IN U.S. MARKET

TORONTO, Oct. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - Redknee (TSX:RKN), a leading provider of business-critical billing and charging software and solutions for communications service providers, today announced that it has signed a licensing agreement with Freedom Wireless Holdings, Inc., the owner of a portfolio of patents relating to prepaid wireless communications. Signing of the agreement will ensure that both wireless telecom operators and MVNOs can leverage Redknee's converged billing solutions to launch innovative prepaid and postpaid services in the U.S. market. This strategic agreement comes as the growth of the U.S. prepaid market continues to prosper. According to the New Millennium Research Council, the U.S. prepaid market grew 17 per cent to 54.4 million subscribers during the fourth quarter of 2009, up from 46.3 million during the same period in 2008.
