Rehab Lounge To Host First Annual Super Macho Taco Challenge Featuring World Champion Eater Takeru Kobayashi
OMAHA, Neb., Sept. 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Local Omaha businesses have teamed up with world renowned competitive eating champion, Takeru Kobayashi for the First Annual Super Macho Taco Challenge. Set to take place on Sunday, September 6th at Rehab Lounge, this event will be presented by Kobayashi as competitors attempt to devour ten tacos in a timed competition. Winners will receive $500 in cash & prizes in addition to the glory and bragging rights bestowed upon them.
Best known as the six-time champion of Nathan's Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest, Takeru Kobayashi will be visiting Omaha, Nebraska for the first time. The taco challenge is an all ages event and will begin at 7:00PM and will last until 11:00PM followed by a "Represent Your Flag/International Party" for those 21+ until close. Contestants will be able to pre-register online for $10 or can pay $15 upon arrival to compete. Registration will include TEN delicious tacos, an official time slot for the challenge, and complimentary refreshment. All proceeds from the contest will be donated to Joao de Brito's mission and his cause to help young Brazilian, Antonio, in his journey to walk, run, dance, and enjoy life as most of us take for granted.
Brito, organizer of Antonio's fundraiser and the front man for many multicultural events in the city, and Kobayashi are thrilled to be working with these many volunteers and sponsors to make this event possible and support this cause.
