LAS VEGAS, Jan. 8, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Renesas Mobile Corporation, a premier supplier of advanced cellular platforms, and Anritsu Company, a global leader in wireless test solutions, announce that Renesas Mobile will demonstrate advanced LTE functionality of its MP5232 platform using the Anritsu MD8475A multimode network simulator at the 2013 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), to be held in Las Vegas, NV from January 8-11. Demonstrations of Category 4 throughput and Voice-over LTE (VoLTE) will be conducted using the MD8475A and a reference design incorporating the Renesas Mobile chipset at its booth in the Venetian Hotel (Toscana 3605).

The MP5232 platform sets a new benchmark in terms of levels of integration and performance for fully featured high-volume LTE devices. At its heart, the Renesas Mobile modem, deployed in over two billion devices to date, delivers the industry's highest throughput and low power multi-mode FDD and TDD-LTE Category 4 capabilities. Combined on a single die with a state-of-the-art application processor, the platform delivers a no-compromise user experience with multi-core computing power, industry-leading graphics, video and imaging capabilities. The platform also includes advanced RF transceivers, power management and audio solutions. The MD8475A Signaling Tester is a compact, Windows 7-based tester capable of emulating two base stations or 2x2 MIMO, with available formats, including LTE (FDD and TDD), W-CDMA/HSPA+, TD-SCDMA/HSPA, GSM/(E)-GPRS, and CDMA2000. Both packet-switched and circuit-switched calls are supported, with available VoLTE, circuit-switched fallback (CSFB), and Simultaneous Voice-LTE (SV-LTE) functionality. End-to-end and data throughput testing is supported by the tester to LTE Category 4 rates, with the capability to install user-supplied servers inside the MD8475A or to connect external servers. Anritsu's SmartStudio GUI provides easy graphical control of the MD8475A, and the internal state machine emulates real network operation without the need for scripts.
