Rep. Fattah Congratulates Michael Rosenzweig upon his New Position in Jewish Leadership
PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 10, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Congressman Chaka Fattah (D-PA) today congratulated Philadelphian Michael Rosenzweig, who guided the National Museum of American Jewish History to its opening on Independence Mall, upon Rosenzweig's appointment to lead a major institution that links Israel and North America.
Rosenzweig was appointed the global President and Chief Executive Officer of the Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies in Jerusalem, the institute announced today. He will lead Pardes in implementing a plan for dynamic growth both in Israel and North America.
"It was an honor to work with Michael Rosenzweig and my Congressional colleagues in support of establishing the new National Museum of American Jewish History," Congressman Fattah said. "Together with Michael, the museum's board and donors, our public-private venture has literally changed the landscape on Philadelphia's most historic block.
"Citizens like Lewis Katz, Sidney Kimmel, the Smukler family, Ed Snider and countless others have built a significant addition to the art, culture and tourism economy of Philadelphia, adding a vital and educational Jewish presence for all our city's visitors."
"As we approach the Jewish New Year of 5773, I extend best wishes to Michael Rosenzweig as he takes his leadership skills to the Pardes Institute. I know that his work will contribute to maintaining and supporting the vibrant culture and history of the Jewish diaspora," Fattah said.
