Flu Pandemic Warning Company Sets Up in UK
LONDON, March 29 /PRNewswire/ -- UK Trade and Investment (http://www.newsroom.uktradeinvest.gov.uk/news.ashx) has announced the formation of BioRadar UK Limited. BioRadar is building on the recent success of Replikins' genomic analysis of influenza viruses in predicting the outbreaks of both H5N1 (bird flu) 6 months in advance, and H1N1 (swine flu) one year in advance.
A global surveillance network for Early Detection->Rapid Response™, based on quantitative determination of Replikins in genomes of infectious organisms, is being formed with participating laboratories in Europe.
Up to the present, infectious diseases of animals and man repeatedly emerge with little or no warning, and devastate their host populations before effective preventative or restrictive efforts can be instituted.
