Reptile Clan Rescue of Florida to Work With FWC to Help Control Python Problem in Florida
ORLANDO, Fla., Jan. 5 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- At Reptile Clan Rescue of Florida, we rescue reptiles, including Reptiles of Concern (ROCs) such as Burmese and Reticulated Pythons, Nile Monitor lizards and Anacondas, from folks who are either unable to take care of their own reptiles any longer, don't have an ROC license, or who have found abandoned reptiles! It's a lot of work, but we can't let an animal suffer from neglect or lack of proper care or licensing. We would rather take them in and care for them than the alternative, folks letting them go in the wild or putting them to sleep.

We are licensed by the state of Florida FWC as an adopter of snakes and reptiles as well as being a Reptiles of Concern license holder for all ROCs. We are also incorporated by the state of Florida as a non-profit organization. We currently work with Orange County Animal Services, the SPCA of Central Florida, and will be listed with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) as a Reptiles of Concern drop-off point, and we also take in reptiles from individuals who wish to turn their reptiles over to us.
If you wish to have us rescue a reptile, contact us at 407-374-8010 or via email at scott@reptilerescue.info. Please also contact us if you have reptile habitats, aquariums, reptile lights, food items, or other reptile related accessories available for donation -- we are non-profit, and can always use some help. Our adoptable reptiles will always be listed in our Petfinder Adoptable Pets page at http://www.petfinder.com/shelterSearch/shelterSearch.cgi?shelterid=FL936
Attention: The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission issued an executive order that will allow owners of exotic reptiles (Reptiles of Concern, i.e. Burmese Pythons, Reticulated Pythons, Rock Pythons, Amethystine pythons, Green Anacondas and Nile Monitor lizards) who do not have permits to turn their pets over to a permit holder or ROC drop-off point, which Reptile Clan Rescue is listed as with the FWC, with no questions asked. The amnesty program will run indefinitely. If you have such an animal, please contact us so we can make arrangements to take them off your hands and take care of them.
