SAN PEDRO, Calif., Feb. 4, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Los Angeles Police Protective League (LAPPL) will be on hand to lend support to San Pedro residents' demand for increased police patrols and the opening of the Harbor Division jail at tonight's Crime Forum featuring LAPD Chief Charlie Beck. The LAPPL will be onsite to distribute crime prevention materials to residents to assist in their efforts to address the surge in crime experienced in San Pedro.
Citywide, 2014 vs. 2015 Violent Crime rose 20.2%, Property Crime rose 10.7%, Robbery rose 12.5%, and Auto Theft rose 17.1% .
