Nominated non-profits must either be Georgia-based, or have an operating chapter within the state, to qualify for receipt of Ringer's annual charitable gift. Individuals submitting nominations do not need to be directly affiliated with his or her chosen charity.
Ringer Consulting Group usually selects one eligible 501(c)3 charity to receive pro bono services to help that organization reach a wider audience online. This year, Ringer's founder and CEO Gabriel Meacham decided to change the selection process: Rather than taking nominations from his staff, Meacham has invited the public to nominate charities they deem worthy of a contribution. Ringer will also select two charities instead of one, that will receive custom websites and/or databases free of charge. Both pro bono donations are valued at $12,000 each.
"Everyone at Ringer Consulting feels very strongly about lending a hand whenever we can," Meacham said. "That's why we decided to become a part of the spirit of giving, and offer pro bono work, which can greatly benefit and enhance organizations that don't necessarily have the budget or manpower to put toward a web development project. The end of the year seems like a logical time to find two charities in need of a robust website or database."
The winning charities will be announced on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017.
