LONDON, Jan. 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Silicon Valley-based business analytics software company Pentaho announced today that it has chosen London to establish its European sales and marketing base from a shortlist of cities that included Dublin and Amsterdam. Pentaho chose London primarily for its unparalleled talent pool of available, multilingual software industry professionals skilled in sales and marketing. Pentaho's London office is located at The Office Group, 1 Euston Square, London NW1 and will officially open on February 1, 2014.

Supporting rapid expansion
Due to the company's ambitious expansion plans, Pentaho looked for a space that offered considerable flexibility, scalability and hiring options as the company grows. Currently Europe contributes 35 percent of Pentaho's overall revenue and the company expects this to increase as Eurozone economies recover.
Doug Johnson, Pentaho's Chief Operation Officer elaborates: "With the new office located near several major transport hubs including King's Cross St Pancras and Euston train and Tube stations, it's feasible to draw on a talent pool that includes most of London and the tech-rich Buckinghamshire suburbs. Another advantage is that most of Pentaho's key business partners in the big data analytics market including Cloudera and MongoDB are located in London."
Hosting new executive hires and their teams
Initially fifteen people will work out of the new office including recent executive hires Paul Scholey, sales director, EMEA and Laura Coles, Director, EMEA, APAC Marketing. Paul joined Pentaho last October after nearly six years in Oracle's business intelligence division and leads the EMEA sales team. Laura joined this January after five years at Invenio Business Solutions and will lead Pentaho's EMEA marketing team, including the inside sales representatives (ISRs) responsible for qualifying incoming leads. The ISR team will be recruiting three new London-based hires over 2014. Phil Davies also joined Pentaho's London-based team last month from Software AG as Alliances Director, EMEA and APAC. Phil is bi-lingual in German and English will be responsible for building and fostering strategic partnerships with large systems integrators and technology partners across the region.
Part of a wider European expansion strategy
Pentaho has been growing aggressively in Europe for the past two years and has built the European operation to approximately 60 employees in sales, marketing, development, customer support and consulting, most of whom are based in the UK, Germany, Portugal, France, the Netherlands and Belgium. Pentaho's European customers include BOS, Brussels Airport, HouseTrip, Leaders in Oncology Care, Lufthansa, Mainzer Volksbank eG, Spreadshirt, St. Antonius Hospital and TravelTainment.
Davy Nys, VP EMEA & APAC, Pentaho commented, "As more public and private sector organisations in Europe embrace the commercial open source model, we are really starting to steal market share from more established players in business analytics. The London office is just one in a series of moves we are making to build the kind of infrastructure we need to support our rapidly growing European client base."
