CHICAGO, Sept. 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- R.J. O'Brien & Associates (RJO), the nation's oldest and largest independent futures brokerage and clearing firm, announced that Jim Gabriele joins the firm today as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the firm's holding company, RJO Holdings Corp. Gabriele, 45, has spent more than two decades in senior operational, financial, management and consulting roles for alternative investment and brokerage firms.
Gabriele, a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), most recently served as a management consultant with Barrington Partners, a boutique consulting and investment banking firm. From 2009 to 2011 as Managing Director, he ran the U.S. office of Butterfield Fulcrum, a leading independent administrator for the alternative investment industry. Previously, he helped establish and led Caledonian Fund Services (USA) LLC, a venture between The Caledonian Group and The Gabriele Group that provided fund administration and tax consulting services to hedge funds and fund of funds.
He was Managing Director and CFO of ING's global derivatives clearing and execution business from 1993 to 2001. In addition to financial and management reporting for the firm's global business line and Futures Commission Merchant (FCM), Gabriele managed U.S. regulatory reporting.

Gabriele co-founded the Midwest Chapter of the Hedge Funds Association (HFA) and served as its Director from 2009 to 2011. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Accounting from Chicago's Loyola University.
