Robert Kenyon Joins Virtus Investment Partners As Managing Director, New Business Development
HARTFORD, Conn., July 25, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Virtus Investment Partners, Inc. (NASDAQ: VRTS), which operates a multi-manager asset management business, today announced that Robert Kenyon , who has specialized in the development and marketing of new investment products throughout his career in the asset management industry, has joined the company as managing director, new business development. He reports to Frank Waltman , executive vice president, product management.

In this new position for Virtus, Kenyon will draw on his 15 years of industry experience to identify growth areas for the company through the expansion of existing product and investment strategy capabilities, particularly Virtus' closed-end funds. He will also identify and evaluate new investment capabilities and partners to develop and market new products.

Kenyon joins Virtus from Kenyon Consulting, LLC, the business he founded in 2008 to provide asset managers with innovative solutions and advice on the distribution, development and management of their existing or new investment product initiatives and investment strategies. Kenyon Consulting assisted in the origination and distribution of multiple closed-end fund offerings, helping its clients raise approximately $1.7 billion in assets.
Prior to starting his own firm, he was with Nuveen Investments for nine years, most recently as national accounts manager and vice president of distribution development supporting Nuveen's closed end fund marketing and distribution efforts.
He earned a bachelor of arts degree in political science from Drew University and received designations from The Wharton School of Business and the Securities Industry Institute.
Kenyon will be located in the Chicago offices of Duff & Phelps Investment Management Co., a Virtus affiliated investment manager.
