Rockchip Reaches Strategic Cooperation with Indonesian Manufacturing Giant ADVAN

JAKARTA, Indonesia, July 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Fabless semiconductor company Rockchip and the largest Indonesian mobile phone and tablet manufacturer ADVAN have jointly announced that they will enter into comprehensive strategic cooperation. ADVAN will develop several communication products on the basis of the SoFIA 3G-R (C3230RK) SoC platform.

ADVAN is the largest mobile phone and tablet manufacturer in Indonesia. Football stars including F.C. Barcelona's Lionel Messi, Gerard Pique, Andres Iniesta and Pedro Rodriguez have all recently helped ADVAN with its brand advertisement and now the company occupies more than a 15% share of the mobile phone market and more than a 50% share of the tablet market respectively. Now, leveraging the supply chain strength in Mainland China, ADVAN has developed into one of Indonesia's national brands.

SoFIA 3G-R (C3230RK) was jointly developed by Intel and Rockchip. It uses 28nm processing technology, Intel Atom framework, and a Quad-Core 64-bit Processer, positioned as a mid-end 3G intelligent product. The chip went on sale during Q1 2015, providing 3G integrated solutions for tablets. Baseband technology has been widely recognized and maturely applied all over the world, and has gained great advantages in frequency band, signal sensitivity, stability, and coverage.
