NEW YORK, Oct. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- McNicoll, Lewis & Vlak LLC (MLV), a boutique investment bank focused on capital intensive industries, announced today that Roman Friedrich has joined the firm as Senior Managing Director, head of the firm's global Metals and Mining investment banking group, and member of the firm's Board of Directors. Mr. Friedrich joins the firm from Roman Friedrich & Company Ltd., a financial advisory group based in Vancouver which he founded and headed for the last 13 years.

Mr. Friedrich will focus on building out the metals and mining team and increasing the firm's visibility throughout the sector.  The addition of Mr. Friedrich complements MLV's previous activities in the sector as it recently added Imaru Casanova as lead Equity Research Analyst in metals and mining.  Additionally, earlier in September, MLV opened up a Denver office headed by founding partner Brent Lewis to focus on metals and mining, among other sectors.

Most recently, Mr. Friedrich was President of Roman Friedrich & Company Ltd. (RFC), which he established in 1997.  Prior to founding RFC, he was a Managing Director at TD Securities where he was responsible for its global mining M&A business. Earlier in his career, Mr. Friedrich spent ten years at the Chase Manhattan Bank where he held a variety of positions, including, President of Chase Manhattan Canada Limited, Managing Director responsible for North American investment banking, and Vice President for Latin America.  Subsequent to his time at Chase, Mr. Friedrich was a partner at Burns Fry and at Wood Gundy. He also was a founding partner of the New York office of Lancaster Financial Corporation, which, during his tenure, was acquired by TD Securities. Mr. Friedrich lives in Vancouver with his wife Stephanie.
