Rosenblum Cellars Announces Move to Oakland's Dynamic Jack London Square
New Location, Just Three Miles from Current Space, Will Offer Host of Dining Options
NAPA, Calif., April 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Rosenblum Cellars, the "original urban winery" and California Zinfandel pioneer, announced plans today to move its East Bay Visitors Center location to Jack London Square on the Oakland waterfront. The new location will offer Rosenblum club members and other visitors the wine experience with friendly staff they expect, as well as a wealth of new food and entertainment options. The new location is just three miles from Rosenblum's current Alameda site and convenient by public transportation, including the Ferry and BART, which are just steps from the new door.
"Rosenblum is proud of and committed to its roots in the urban East Bay, Alameda and Oakland area. More than half of Rosenblum's loyal wine club members live locally and visit regularly to sample and buy wines, so finding a new location in the East Bay was a top priority," said Brigid Harris, General Manager, Direct-to-Consumer, Diageo Chateau and Estate Wines. "We listen to our club members and visitors to our locations in the East Bay and Healdsburg. We know they love Rosenblum Cellars for great quality wines and for the warm atmosphere of our wine experience. We also know they enjoy food and wine pairings, as well as good food in general. For all of these reasons, we are excited about the new Rosenblum space and all the Oakland location will offer."
Jack London Square features a number of award–winning restaurants, artisanal shops, live music venues, and a farmers market. The new location has a stunning view of the San Francisco Bay and is perched on the active Oakland waterfront with its Marina and bike paths. Rosenblum Cellars plans to open the new Oakland site as soon as the lease expires on the Alameda location in June. Grand Opening events are being planned for July, 2014.
Last October, the Rosenblum Cellars Wine Tasting Lounge and Educational Center opened on the square in Healdsburg, CA, close to many of its regional growers and finest Zinfandel vineyards. Healdsburg also offers some of the best restaurants in wine country.
Rosenblum Cellars was founded in 1978, with a focus on the Zinfandel varietal and a smaller production of Rhone style wines. Rosenblum Cellars prides itself on excellent grower relations, partnering with more than 50 grape growers in premium viticultural regions around California. Over the years, the wines have garnered rave reviews from critics, and the influential Wine Spectator has called Rosenblum Cellars "a mecca for Zin-Fanatics."
Recently, Rosenblum's maverick spirit has inspired new wine launches. Stark Raving®, Rose'N'Blum® and, most recently, the Great American Wine Company® are all Rosenblum Cellars projects. The Rosenblum team embraces the science of winemaking with passion, irreverence and a belief that everyone deserves a wine that speaks to them.
