Rosenblum Cellars® Introduces Stark Raving™ - Crazy. Good. Wine.
Rosenblum Cellars® Partners with Man Made author Joel Stein for a Food Truck & Wine Pairing Competition and National Book Tour to benefit Meals on Wheels
NAPA, Calif., Oct. 24, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Rosenblum Cellars® has released a bold new line of wines in their expansive wine portfolio called, Stark Raving™. Four inspired varietals including: "Red," "White," "Cab," and "Malbec," have hit shelves nationally, inciting wine lovers to get out of the comfort zone and explore some daring new wine choices. Stark Raving wines are big, bold and often inventive wine blends that reflect winemaker John Kane's obsession with experimentation, and the sheer fun of innovative winemaking. The brand is celebrating the maverick Stark Raving spirit with the Stark Raving Crazy. Good. Man Made BookTour - a six city tour that pairs food truck cuisine, Stark Raving Wines and book signings, hosted by columnist and author Joel Stein, and benefitting Meals on Wheels.
"Stark Raving wines are for the guy who likes his wines big, bold, jammy and luscious – red or white," said Jessica Callahan, Brand Marketing Manager of Lifestyle Wines at Diageo. "Stark Raving wines pair with any food – especially casual food truck bites. These wines are perfect for busy lives, for gourmet on the go, and impromptu parties. The irreverent name, the screw cap closure show you don't need a degree in wine, to know what's good – or crazy good."
The tour stops in New York, Denver, Chicago, San Francisco, Houston and Tampa. At each location, Host Joel Stein challenges food truck partners to create dishes inspired by one of the Stark Raving varietals to develop a signature creation. The trucks compete head-to-head for the most inventive and "Crazy. Good." food and wine pairing. A donation to regional Meals on Wheels Association of America affiliated organizations is made in the name of the winning food truck in each city. The food trucks compete for the glory of being Stark Raving Crazy. Good. Food Certified.
"Stark Raving is elevating my Man Made book tour to a crazy good time," said Joel Stein, columnist and author of Man Made. "When I launched my book, I didn't want a book tour where I was reading to a room. Instead I get to drink amazing wine with awesome food truck chefs and really engage with our audience."
The wines are playful and bold blends that prove a little dose of madness can lead— nay, will lead – to extraordinary things. As Wayne Gretzky once said, "You miss 100% of the shots you never take." Take a shot. Try some Stark Raving. It's an irresistibly interesting alternative.
- RED WINE is a bold blend of plum and bright red fruit flavors.
- WHITE WINE is a vivacious white blend with juicy flavors of pear and melon.
- CABERNET SAUVIGNON is an eccentric yet perfectly balanced mix of big and juicy flavors of black fruit, black pepper and mocha.
- MALBEC is a quirky, enticing blend with soft notes of blueberry, raspberry and smoky bacon.
