Royal Oaks Hosts "My Food Fix," a Free Cooking Class
Cooking for one or two can be challenging. At a new event, expert chefs demonstrate how to create delicious, nutritious meals that are just the right portion size.
GLENDALE, Calif., Oct. 16, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The expert chefs of Royal Oaks, a be.group senior living community in North Bradbury, Calif., will host a free cooking class on Friday, Oct. 25, from 9:30–11 a.m.
During the presentation, be.group chefs will address the cooking challenges seniors face as they age. Many seniors are accustomed to creating meals to feed a whole family. Upon losing a spouse, some need to prepare their own meals for the first time. As children grow up and friends move away, they may need to learn (or re-learn) to cook for just one or two. The chefs of Royal Oaks will teach guests how to create fun, healthy dishes that are just the right portion size.
be.group chefs are well-versed in cultivating dishes to meet seniors' dietary needs without sacrificing quality or flavor. "We push to make food that is healthy for you but it's also really good," says Executive Chef Bruce Oravetz. Guests will gain insight into preparing nutritious meals that promote healthy lifestyles, such as heart-healthy and low-sodium diets.
