SAE International Editor, Publication Win National Editors Award
WARRENDALE, Pa., Aug. 20 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Lindsay Brooke, senior editor, and SAE International's Automotive Engineering International (AEI) magazine were honored with a Bronze award in the national Annual Awards Competition of the American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE).
Brooke and AEI won in the Feature Series category for the article "Re-engineering the Auto Engineer," which ran in the September and October 2009 issues of AEI. The two-part feature series explained why auto engineers will need to increase their knowledge of hybrid and electric vehicles and related technologies, which have become a "hot ticket" in auto engineering. The series also noted the explosion of new college degree programs and training initiatives related to hybrid and EV-related career opportunities.
The ASBPE competition, known as the Azbees, recognizes outstanding editorial work by business and professional magazine, newsletter and Web editors and designers. Competition for the prestigious awards is extremely tough. Judges are experienced editors, designers, consultants, and academicians.
This is the second such award this year for AEI and an SAE International editor. In April, assistant editor Ryan Gehm and AEI were honored with a Silver award in the Truck Writers of North America's seventh annual Communication Awards competition. Gehm and AEI received the award in the Magazine Writing-Technical category for the article, "Truckin' Along."
