SafeNet Simplifies Cloud Encryption Pricing Model on AWS Marketplace Annual Subscriptions for SafeNet's Cloud-based Encryption and Secure Key Management Solutions Help Lower Customer Spend by Up to 40 Percent
BALTIMORE, July 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- SafeNet, Inc., a global leader in data protection solutions, today announced a new annual pricing model for SafeNet ProtectV and Virtual KeySecure solutions on AWS Marketplace. SafeNet's encryption and key management solutions enable Amazon Web Services (AWS) customers to encrypt and move their most sensitive data and applications into the cloud while maintaining high levels of data protection. Customers can now purchase annual subscriptions to cover steady-state workloads in exchange for a product discount, and to budget their software expenses over time, which can help lower spending between 10 to 40 percent.
"We are excited to have SafeNet offer their software with annual pricing on AWS Marketplace," said Terry Hanold, vice president, cloud commerce, Amazon Web Services, Inc. "With SafeNet ProtectV and Virtual KeySecure available on both hourly and annual pricing, customers can quickly launch new initiatives without large upfront costs, while taking advantage of material savings for steady-state, long-term workloads."
The combination of SafeNet's enterprise encryption and key management products, along with AWS' highly scalable, secure, and flexible platform, is a compelling offering for customers deploying sensitive workloads in AWS. ProtectV is a full-disk encryption solution for virtual instances. Virtual KeySecure is a hardened software appliance that manages and securely stores the encryption keys for ProtectV.
"SafeNet has been providing its cloud-based encryption and key management with flexible pricing that mirrors that of the cloud," said Wendy Nather, research director of information security for 451 Research. "At the same time, not all enterprise budgets are ready for dynamic pricing. With an additional choice of annual subscription rates, organizations can rely on more predictable outlays, making security an easier sell."
The SafeNet products are already available in hourly pricing models on AWS Marketplace and the new annual pricing models make budgeting and forecasting software expenses easier for organizations. Customers can launch hourly and easily migrate to annual pricing without submitting paperwork, purchasing new license keys, or installing new software. This provides them with a simple, trusted, and secure way to quickly leverage SafeNet security offerings on demand.
"We have worked with AWS since 2011 to make it simple for customers to see how easy it is to deploy a robust cloud encryption framework," said David Etue, vice president of corporate development strategy, SafeNet. "The new annual pricing model allows customers to purchase encryption and key management hourly, as before, or annually, to align their encryption budget with their steady-state and on-demand workloads."
