SAIC Awarded $23 Million Task Order by Defense Biometrics Identity Management Agency

MCLEAN, Va., Oct. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) announced today that it was awarded a prime follow-on contract by the U. S. Department of Defense (DoD), Biometrics Identity Management Agency (BIMA) to continue providing biometric support services to the U.S. Central Command's (USCENTCOM) area of responsibility (AOR). The task order has a one year base period of performance, two one year options and a total value of more than $23 million. The task order was awarded under the Biometrics Operations and Support Services-Unrestricted (BOSS-U) contract.

Collecting and registering personnel into biometric databases is key to helping identify insurgents throughout the USCENTCOM AOR. Under the task order, SAIC will provide the U.S. military and coalition partners with biometric enrollment support at entry ports throughout Iraq. SAIC has supported biometric-enabled enrollments in the USCENTCOM AOR for the past six years.
