SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., May 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Sales executives confirm an improving U.S. economy in 2010, according to a recent survey conducted in April by The Alexander Group, Inc. More than 150 sales leaders provided their sales force expectations for 2010 as reported after the close of the first quarter in the recent 2010—1st Quarter Sales Update Survey.
Eighty-nine percent of those surveyed see a positive growth in the U.S. economy this year compared to 2009; and 80 percent predict their industry sector will grow. In fact, 66 percent of the participants are currently meeting or exceeding their 2010 year-to-date sales goals. And, by the end of this year, 81 percent expect to meet or exceed their 2010 sales goals.
"Sales executives are putting a big push on sales productivity improvement," said David Cichelli, survey editor and senior vice president of The Alexander Group. More than one-half of the respondents indicated sales productivity gains as the number one sales effectiveness initiative for fiscal year 2010.
Other topics in the survey included revenue staffing, quotas and sales compensation. For more results, visit our website at www.salescompsolutions.com.
