Driving the Vision of Information Dissemination and Providing Business IT Transformation to Support Modernization of USPTO's Systems
FAIRFAX, Va., Dec. 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Salient CRGT, Inc., a leading provider of full lifecycle information technology and training services with expert depth in Agile software development, data analytics, mobility, cyber security, and infrastructure, today announced the award of a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) and seven subsequent task orders over the last four months from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
The five-year (1 base, 4 option years) BPA contract has a total ceiling of $50 million. The BPA and task orders are an expansion of current work for operations and maintenance (O&M) and development services for the USPTO enterprise data warehouse (EDW). Salient CRGT supports agency-wide financial reporting and analysis, and the critical modernization of the Fee Processing system.
The USPTO is funded entirely by user fees and is responsible for prudent fiscal management. It administers the laws and regulations related to patents and trademarks in order to foster innovation and competitiveness, promote industrial and technical progress in the United States, and strengthen the national economy. The effort will strengthen USPTO's ability to have readily available, accurate, complete, integrated financial data that are essential to the success of the USPTO's mission.
As background, Salient CRGT has been a trusted business intelligence partner to the USPTO for more than five years, successfully delivering Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) projects in fee forecasting, fee processing, disaster recovery, data integration, reporting, and visualizations. Salient CRGT assisted the Office of Financial Management Systems (OFMS) in the development of its Information Dissemination policy that OFMS shares regularly with other offices. OFMS provides maintenance and support for the USPTOs core financial system.
"We have built a trust with USPTO through our initial Enterprise Data Warehouse support. Our team understands the importance of the USPTO mission to provide timely responses and analyze an increasingly large amount of data," says Tom Ferrando, President of Salient CRGT. In this era of heightened fiscal responsibility, we're honored to continue to provide our expertise in business intelligence and our Agile methodology, as both advisors and developers for the OFMS, so that the USPTO is better able to adapt to changes and to mitigate associated risks."
With expertise in Business Objects, Oracle, Linux, as well as leveraging of Agile tools and techniques, Salient CRGT has decreased development times, integrated new data into the EDW, improved system resiliency, and increased efficiency in O&M.
This award was through its wholly owned subsidiary, Guident, Inc.
