Sand Competition at Hurricane Sandy Devastated Beach
Town of Hempstead Formally Kicks Off Long Island's 1st Annual Sand Castle Contest at Press Conference Tomorrow
HEMPSTEAD, N.Y., Aug. 28, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Hempstead Town Supervisor Kate Murray will be joined by dozens of local residents and sand sculpting artists at a press conference to announce the 1st annual Long Island Sand Sculpting Competition, Thursday, August 29, 2013 at 11 am. Long Beach and Lido Beach were among the hardest-hit communities by Hurricane Sandy. Area residents have joined together to launch the Sand Sculpting Competition to be held this weekend.
The Competition will take place at Town Park at Malibu Beach Club. Supervisor Murray and other event officials will announce the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes and other details of the festivities. Media coverage invited.
