SANS Network Security Training Event in Las Vegas to Feature Two New Developer Courses
Hands-On Immersion Style Training Offers Insight into Vulnerabilities and How to Protect Against Them
BETHESDA, Md., July 18, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- SANS Institute, the global leader in information security training, today announced two new developer courses that will be offered at SANS Network Security 2017 taking place in Las Vegas September 10 - 17. Frank Kim (@fykim), CISO of SANS, will teach the new DEV534: Secure DevOps: A Practical Introduction course. Gregory Leonard, Senior Application Security Consultant at Optiv, will teach the new DEV531: Defending Mobile Applications Security Essentials course.
According to Kim, "DevOps and the cloud are radically changing the way that organizations design, build, and operate systems. Traditional approaches to security, where the default response to new technologies and approaches is often 'no', can't keep up with the accelerated rate of change that businesses demand. Join me at SANS Network Security where I will explain the fundamentals of DevOps, and how DevOps teams can build and deliver secure software."
DEV534: Secure DevOps: A Practical Introduction introduces students to DevOps principles, practices and tools and explain how Secure DevOps can be implemented using lessons from successful DevOps security programs. DEV531: Defending Mobile Applications Security Essentials covers the most prevalent mobile app risks, including those from the OWASP Mobile Top 10. Students will participate in numerous hands-on exercises available in both the Android and iOS platforms.
