SAP HANA® Platform Momentum Continues With Mission-Critical Enterprise Applications and Developer Adoption
SAP HANA® Platform to Run Diverse Mission-Critical Enterprise Applications, Bring Additional Support for Large-Scale Data Center Deployments and Application Libraries for Developers
MADRID, Nov. 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) today announced the SAP HANA® platform support pack 5 (SPS5) with additional capabilities for diverse mission-critical applications. SAP HANA will collapse the architectural layers between application and data processing and converge database and application services in a single in-memory-based architecture. SAP HANA SPS5 will support large-scale data center deployments with high availability, disaster recovery and security. The announcement was made at SAPPHIRE® NOW + SAP® TechEd, being held as a co-located event in Madrid from November 13-16. (Logo: http://photos.prnewswire.com/prnh/20110126/AQ34470LOGO) "We made a bold commitment earlier this year to deliver mission-critical applications on the SAP HANA platform and we have reached that goal with our own CRM solution powered by SAP HANA," said Dr. Vishal Sikka, member of the SAP Executive Board, Technology & Innovation. "SAP HANA, with its completely in-memory, massively parallel design since inception, has brought breakthrough performance for OLTP, OLAP and unstructured data apps in one platform. Following up on delivery of SAP Business One on SAP HANA in the third quarter, we have now demonstrated the mission-critical OLTP capabilities of SAP HANA by delivering SAP CRM on SAP HANA. I am also proud that we have delivered application services in SAP HANA, thereby collapsing the divide between application services and database and optimizing across layers, a true example of timeless software."
