SC Johnson Reaches Agreement to Acquire Melvo Holding GmbH

Salamander®, Woly® brands to Join the Company's Global Shoe Care Portfolio

RACINE, Wis., Sept. 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- SC Johnson is pleased to announce that it has reached an agreement to acquire Melvo Holding GmbH, a shoe care company with leading brands sold throughout Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), from a shareholder group led by VR Equitypartner. The deal adds leading brands that include Salamander®, a market leader in Russia, as well as Woly®, Woly Sport® and Grison®, to SC Johnson's robust shoe care portfolio, which includes the Kiwi® and Bama® brands.

SC Johnson expects the deal, which includes all aspects of the Melvo business, to be finalized in the coming months. This is subject to competition authority approvals and other local requirements with relevant workers' councils.

As a private company, SC Johnson does not disclose details regarding financial or business transactions.
