The Rice Krispies Surprise Pumpkin Treats recipe is a playful variation on the Original TreatsTM – the main difference is the pumpkin shape and hidden candies inside. There is also plenty of opportunity for moms to be creative with their children by using candies, frosting or decorating gel.
To ensure the tastiest and most festive snacks, here are some tips from moms across the country:
- Mix it up: To preserve the airy lightness of the cereal when making a Rice Krispies Treat, quickly stir the Rice Krispies into the melted marshmallow mixture with a light hand.
- To dye for: Add orange food coloring in the marshmallow and butter mixture before you pour in the Rice Krispies cereal for a more festive look.
- Show your culinary flair: If you like spice, try a pumpkin spice version by substituting regular marshmallows with Jet-Puffed® Pumpkin Spice Mallows. Also, a pinch of sea salt, either mixed in or sprinkled on top, heightens other flavors beautifully.
Rice Krispies Surprise Pumpkin Treats are just one of several fun holiday-inspired ideas from Rice Krispies. Now moms can get inspired with new Rice Krispies Treat recipes and decorating ideas on Rice Krispies' Pinterest page, RiceKrispies.com or share their own magic moments sparked by Rice Krispies on Facebook.
