School Bus Safety Company, Inc. to Discuss Preparing for Effects of MAP-21
Safety Leader to Conduct Webinar on How School Districts and Transportation Providers Can Comply with New Federal Regulations
HUDSON, Ohio, Feb. 4, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- School Bus Safety Company, Inc. (SBSC), North America's premier school bus safety and training company, is partnering with industry trade publication, School Bus Fleet, to co-host the webinar '5 Critical Things You Need to Know about MAP-21'. School districts and transportation providers across the United States are preparing for new federal regulations that go into effect February, 7, 2020, which will set new bus driver training standards and establish new reporting requirements. The complimentary webinar is taking place on Thursday, February 7, at 2:00pm EST and will be hosted by Chris Walls, President of SBSC.
"School districts, transportation providers and industry professionals will need to change their approach toward pupil transportation with the new MAP-21 compliance standards and refined regulations on safety and training measures," stated Walls.
The Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act - or MAP-21 - is bringing new transportation regulations geared toward updating and standardizing the safety and training requirements for school bus drivers. Ultimately, these changes will help schools and districts come into compliance with federal laws that will make students and staff safer while on the road.
During this webinar, Walls will analyze the new regulations to better explain what MAP-21 means; how it will affect school bus training in 2019, 2020 and beyond; and how to bridge the gap between current safety and training programs with the new topics and mandates under the MAP-21 regulations.
"Every location that trains bus drivers must comply with MAP-21 and the quality of that training is critical," Walls said. "I look forward to the webinar and discussing how school districts and transportation providers can become compliant with the new rules. This is a great opportunity to raise the bar for safety in school transportation."
