School for Tomorrow Hires First Principal for Silver Spring Campus
SILVER SPRING, Md., April 4, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, School for Tomorrow announced that Greg Stewart will become the very first principal of its Silver Spring campus.
"Greg is an innovative, multi-talented, inspiring educator and leader," said Alan Shusterman, Founder and Head of School for Tomorrow (SFT). "We are extremely fortunate to have him as the principal of our Silver Spring campus and are excited to see the positive impact he'll have on our school and all of its students."
Stewart comes to SFT from Cedar Lane Unitarian Universalist Church, where he has served as Minister of Lifespan Religious Education since 2014. Prior to his work at Cedar Lane, Greg spent two decades transforming educational programs for thousands of adults and children at Unitarian churches in Lincoln, Neb., San Francisco, Reno, Nev., Chicago, Los Angeles, and Cleveland.
Greg holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and master's degrees from Roosevelt University and the University of Chicago.
Greg has already experienced School for Tomorrow from a unique range of perspectives. His husband, Stillman, is currently on the faculty at SFT. And their son David began attending SFT in 2014. With these perspectives, along with his extensive background in education, Greg is a perfect fit for his new role as principal.
"I am thrilled to begin work at SFT-Silver Spring," Greg said. "School for Tomorrow has changed my son's life -- and I am extremely excited to help it do the same for other students from across Maryland, the District of Columbia, and Virginia."
