Scion Launches The Build A Scion Application, A Personalized Take On Helping Consumers Craft Their Own Scion Vehicle Experience

TORRANCE, Calif., Dec. 20, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Scion is making it easier for consumers to configure and personalize their future car with Build A Scion, its new mobile application that configures, prices, and visualizes new Scion models. The Build A Scion app will implement additives such as accessories to the four models provided, as well as locating the nearest Scion dealer.

In Build A Scion, users can select any Scion vehicle - including the new iQ, xB, xD or tC models – and choose from an array of accessories and colors to generate numerous combinations. Users can also save and compare their customized vehicles in their own, personal showroom and virtually view their modified cars before purchase. Additionally, creating an account on Build A Scion automatically registers users on Scion.com, allowing users to view and synch configurations from the app and the website. Undecided users can take the "Which Scion are you Quiz" to determine which vehicle fits their lifestyles and personalities. When users are ready to purchase, once the closest Scion dealer has been determined, users can submit questions and quote requests directly through the app.

Because Scion dealers and accessories are frequently added and updated, the app was designed to handle these copy and image changes without requiring a new version release. The app also uses Scion services to calculate payments and send price requests.
