MADISON, Wis., Oct. 20, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Behind every successful racer is a great story. The cast of characters usually includes a close family and a strong support system. Dustin Renteria, an up-and-coming motocross racer, has both. His family makes up his race team. And, Level 5 Motorsports' Scott Tucker is a big part of the support system.
Tucker, himself a five-time national sports car racing champion and a standout driver in the American Le Mans Series, the Ferrari Challenge Series, the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup Series and the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series, and his Level 5 Motorsports team has been a huge source of financial help for the nine-year-old Renteria. The youngster has benefited from both a monetary investment and marketing assistance, which has allowed him to burst onto the national scene in a unique way.
In 2010, Level 5 Motorsports implemented a program that provides assistance for talented, enthusiastic young people who are interested in pursuing a career in motorsports. Renteria, of Hollister, California, is one of the first emerging stars highlighted by the program.
"I understand how important it is to get a leg up at a crucial point," Tucker said. "Dustin, and the rest of the kids we've been able to help, are simply racers that I have crossed paths. Fate has definitely played a hand here. It's good for these young racers, and it's good for motorsports."
Renteria has been racing motocross since 2008, when he was a mere six years old. And, he has been winning races and competing for titles since then. He has collected numerous podium finishes and multiple championships while racing at venues across the western United States on a 2010 Cobra King.
"Scott continues to help us with the best possible equipment to race with, be it suspension-wise or motor-wise," said Dusty Renteria, the young racer's father. "Scott has helped us in so many aspects of Dustin's racing program. We're grateful for all he has done for us. Both he and Level 5 have been a tremendous blessing for our family."
In 2011, the young Renteria has raced in several different classes, and had posted 40 victories through early fall. He primarily races in his home state of California, but has begun to attract national attention with his results.
"The caliber of racers on the West Coast, even at this young age, is tremendous," Dusty Renteria said. "With a lot of these kids, their parents don't work and are involved with their racing careers full time. That's why we're so glad to have someone like Scott involved with Dusty. If it weren't for him, I know Dustin wouldn't be nearly as far along as he is."
