NEW YORK, June 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The SEAL Future Fund (SFF), a non-profit organization created to support continuing education and career development for active and veteran Navy SEALs, announced today their inaugural scholarship initiatives and open enrollment application period for qualified candidates.

The SEAL Future Fund has announced their application requirements to qualified active duty, reserve or former SEALs offering ten (10), $5,000 scholarships to candidates enrolled in an accredited college or university for the 2014-2015 academic year. Applications are downloadable from the SFF website and require an accompanying essay, (2) recommendation letters, proof of enrollment and proof of active duty or proof of honorable discharge from the Navy (form DD-214). Chairman and Co-Founder, Brian Martelli comments, "The SEAL Future Fund is focused on ensuring that these individuals and their capabilities are not lost in the posterity of duty by providing the means to transition into civilian life in a manner that harnesses and builds upon the strengths of their time in service. From networking and job placement, internships, and mentorship programs to full scholarships, the SEAL Future Fund provides Navy SEALs with countless pathways to success within the communities they fought so hard to protect."

Navy SEALs are among the most highly trained professionals in the world, serving as paragons of leadership, teamwork, resolution, and focus. The SFF was created to accelerate SEALs' transitions into civilian life in a manner that harnesses and builds upon their strengths and capabilities.

"We are opening up a leadership pool that has already been screened & tested at the most intense levels. The SEAL Future Fund is allowing businesses access to a talent pool that would otherwise be challenging to connect with," states Martelli.

Scholarship Application:

Established in 2013, The SEAL Future Fund (SFF) is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization, that was created in response to the lack of support for continuing education and career development for active and veteran Navy SEALs. Founded by a group of former Navy SEALS, SFF provides financial resources, support and access to professional networks to help these exceptional individuals accelerate into civilian life. In August 2014, the SFF will offer their first inaugural scholarships, awarding (10) qualified SEAL applicants a scholarship for the 2014-2015 academic year.
