"Our real-time content parsing and analysis algorithm enables the software to find the most interesting press articles and videos related to any page you are browsing on," said Eric Poindessault, founder of Biggerpan. This contextual content discovery feature relies on a new type of user experience where search lies on top of the users' navigation. "Google is already pre-loaded and accessible in one click, and so are all the searches made across the open tabs; you no longer need to click the 'back' button nor juggle with dozens of tabs," added the CEO who initiated the product R&D in Paris, France before opening an office in San Francisco, CA in late 2013.
Planning to add social network content as well as ecommerce search results to its product soon, the company however ensures its business model will not rely on advertising which it judges is too intrusive and could be harmful to the user experience. Biggerpan plans a launch in the US first, with the goal of becoming a leader on this new market whose size is estimated to be over $4 billion in the US only.
