SearchCore Announces Acquisition of Sportify; Enters Sports and Lifestyle Industry Sportify™ Mobile App to Create Social Network for Recreational Sports Enthusiasts
LAKE FOREST, Calif., Jan. 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- SearchCore, Inc. (OTCQX: SRER), a technology-based Internet marketing services company that connects consumers with brands, products and services, announced today the acquisition of Sports Asylum, Inc. Sports Asylum's mobile app, Sportify™ (www.Sportify.com) will provide a social network designed for recreational sports enthusiasts. Also included in the acquisition is the dynamic core technology utilized for the web based platform. The acquisition demonstrates the company's expansion of its Internet business marketing platform to the sports and lifestyle industry. The acquisition was completed on December 31, 2012.
The Sportify iOS mobile app, expected to launch in the first quarter of 2013, enables users to source, schedule, review, browse, connect, and participate in any one of up to 90 different recreational sports in a covered geographic area. Sportify features include the ability to find other players, locate recreational sports facilities, courts, and centers, as well as offering easy game scheduling and social media integration, among others. The app provides its users a variety of functions such as email confirmation of start times, number of participants, skill level of other players, and reviews of the participants, the teams and the sports facility. Initially, the app will be beta tested for users in Southern California from Santa Barbara to San Diego, with later expansion city by city to a nationwide database.
"We are excited about the acquisition of Sports Asylum and the upcoming launch of Sportify and its potential to be the leading sports social network powered by a community of people who are passionate and enthusiastic about recreational sports," said Jim Pakulis, CEO of SearchCore. "This network will cater to the already 150+ million people who participate in recreational sports, helping them easily organize and find games or leagues in their community with friends or other Sportify users. Our acquisition of Sports Asylum is a key strategic milestone in leveraging our scalable technology to expand into sports and lifestyle, and then into a well-diversified Internet platform company. This transaction is only the beginning of SearchCore's entry into a range of active lifestyle and other niche verticals."
