
SearchMBA.com Awards MBA Scholarship Worth €45,000 to Entrepreneurial Swedish Managing Director, Anna Bäck

For the fifth consecutive year SearchMBA.com is proud to have awarded the Executive MBA Scholarship. The Executive MBA Scholarship is awarded to up and coming leaders with the purpose of strengthening the business community in Sweden. The €45,000 scholarship was announced by Sweden's largest business media portal, Dagens Industri, in collaboration with www.searchmba.com and Stockholm School of Economics. The purpose is to promote further education and raise the level of competence amongst the leaders of tomorrow. The MBA Scholarship is awarded to people who by their standing and future potential in a Swedish based company can strengthen their leadership and management skills in business development and for the benefit of their company.
In order to qualify for the MBA Scholarship, participants were asked to demonstrate excellent potential in fields such as: business development through entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship in a Swedish-based business acting in an international market.
The MBA Scholarship was awarded to Anna Bäck, Managing Director of Ocean Observations in December 2011, and the motivation was as follows:
"Anna Bäck showed broad experience and an entrepreneurial personality and works in an industry with an exciting future. Her interest to drive and develop business combined with a desire to understand her environment is in line with the ambitions of Stockholm School of Economics' ambitions for the MBA program. With her experience, not least from Asia, and her personality she will be a great asset to the group and the MBA program. The MBA program will help Anna strengthen her ability to contribute to Ocean Observations organization and their business in Sweden and internationally, but also contribute to Sweden's role in mobile communication."
The jury consisted of Carl-Johan Bonnier, Chairman of the Board, Bonnier AB; Lars Strannegård, Dean of MBA at Stockholm School of Economics; Ursula Tengelin, former Secretary General for Cancerfonden and an alumni of the Executive MBA program; Mattias Säker, Vice President, SearchMBA.com and Lotta Edling, Managing Editor, Dagens Industri.
The MBA Scholarship recipient in short:
Anna Bäck is 39 years old, and previously worked as the Managing Director at Ocean Observations. Anna has a Masters Degree in Industrial Engineering from Linköping University. She has a professional background from the telecom industry and also started a charitable organization during her time in China.
The MBA experience so far has gone well and Anna's high expectations have been met:

The MBA Scholarship in short:
The Scholarship consists of a place on the Stockholm School of Economics MBA program, the Executive format. The program is held entirely in English and stretches over two years. The group of participants consists of approximately 35 people and a third of the participants come from countries such as India, the US, France, Russia and Estonia. The scholarship is worth €45 000. Stockholm School of Economics is the only university in Sweden with examination rights for an MBA.
