FLOWER MOUND, Texas, Feb. 7, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Seat Swap Guru, Inc. is proud to announce the official launch of its mobile application called Swapm. Swapm is a peer to peer airplane seat exchange mobile application that can be accessed from a cellular device or tablet.
Swapm provides a virtual marketplace for airplane seats and gives ticketed passengers who are on the same flight the ability to swap their personal seat assignments with each other for a negotiated, agreed upon, monetary price and/or a personally more desirable seat assignment. Swapm is a third-party application that supports all Airlines and flights, but is not associated with any major airline.
Swapm takes away the stress of not having complete control of a seat by combining simplicity and boldness into one application that allows fliers to get what they want on a flight; whether that is a certain seat position or extra money in one's pocket. To begin using Swapm, either sign up by using a Facebook account or an email address. The email address associated with the Facebook account or the one that is entered upon sign up is used to create a payment account (Stripe is the payment merchant).
Once the account (automatic with Facebook) is verified, log in, add a profile picture, have the option to change the username, add a payment method and swapping seats can begin. To actually swap a seat, add a flight by entering flight information and following the applicable prompts. The app lets customers know of new seat swap opportunities if they are first to add a seat, via phone alerts and pop-ups. If a passenger has an offer, Swapm will inform you of that as well. In fact, passengers will never miss anything that happens on their flight within the app, as Swapm will keep them informed!
According to the National Air Traffic Controllers association, there are over 87,000 flights per day in the United States alone. In 2015, according to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, there were 698,121,080 passengers on domestic flights within the United States.
Furthermore, from January to September 2016, 541,071,296 passengers flew with a monthly average of 60,119,033 passengers per month. After conducting a small survey in regards to people's satisfaction of the seat assignment process, 90% noted that they would swap seats for a better seat position or money if there was an opportunity to do so.
