Second Book of Sherban Young's Enescu Fleet Series, "Fleeting Glance," Honored as One of Kirkus Reviews' Best Books of 2013

ELLICOTT CITY, Md., Jan. 13, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- With wit and dry humor to spare, Sherban Young's series of crime novels featuring the memorable sleuth Enescu Fleet have earned their share of accolades, not to mention a loyal readership. Building on that momentum, book two of the series, "Fleeting Glance," has just been named to Kirkus Reviews' Best Books of 2013.

Dubbing it a "hypercaffeinated crime caper," Kirkus Reviews praises the novel's snappy dialogue and fast pacing. The plot of "Fleeting Glance" concerns a blood feud between the Vroom and Herrington ("Johnny Fishcakes") crime families, and the hapless civilians caught in the middle: John Hathaway and his fiancee expect a cozy weekend together, but instead Hathaway is framed for murder. Enter retired investigator Enescu Fleet, ready and able to supply sarcastic quips, all while deftly solving the mystery at hand. The complete review of "Fleeting Glance" is available here:

As with the first entry in the series, "Fleeting Memory," the novel incorporates a cultural theme and an associated puzzle or riddle. "Fleeting Glance" takes fine art as its focal point. An art heist is a central event in the novel's intricate tangle of circumstances.

To add authenticity to the fine art theme, Young consulted with renowned painter Thomas McKnight. Still creating highly regarded work, perhaps McKnight's most recognizable painting is of the White House Red Room, which adorned a set of Christmas cards from the Clinton family. The painter makes a cameo in "Fleeting Glance" as a friend of master detective Enescu Fleet.

Kirkus Reviews' naming of "Fleeting Glance" to its best-of list has not been the book's only accolade. Industry reviews have likewise been unanimously positive. Literary R&R raved that the second entry in the Fleet series is "another 5 star book," while Dreams on Papyrus commented that "[i]t is a book you won't want to put down until it's all done, then you'll wish you hadn't finished it yet!"

A complete list of Young's books is available as a .pdf file at MysteryCaper Press; his books are all available for purchase on Amazon, Barnes & Noble and iTunes. Young is also active on the following social media outlets:

Young has been a successful published author for 15 years. In 2009, seeing the advantages of having control over the entire publishing process, he founded MysteryCaper Press. In the future, MysteryCaper Press hopes to add the work of new and talented authors working in the detective genre.

The third book in the Fleet series, "Fleeting Note," is out now: It features music as its theme, with an appearance by internationally acclaimed classical music/heavy metal violinist Rachel Barton Pine as Fleet's special advisor in the story.
