Securus Wins New Business from Global Tel*Link (GTL) at Rate of $3.00 to $1.00 Over the Last +5 Years
New Study Indicates That Securus Has Taken 99 State Prison Contracts and County/Local Contracts from GTL Totaling +$555 Million in Revenue
Securus' Larger Product Set and High Tech Platform Cited By Customers as a Major Factor in Choosing Securus
DALLAS, April 13, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Securus Technologies, a leading provider of civil and criminal justice technology solutions for public safety, investigation, corrections and monitoring, announced today that it has won new business from GTL at the very high/good rate of $3.00 for every $1.00 it loses to GTL.
"From 2010 through today, we have won business at the astounding ratio of $3.00 (won) to $1.00 (loss) from GTL," said Richard A. ("Rick") Smith, Chief Executive Officer of Securus Technologies, Inc. "We won a total of 99 contracts over that period of time from that company which represents approximately $555 million of contract value while losing only $185 million to GTL, or a net gain of $370 million. That is a good ratio for sure – but there is no reason that we cannot win every contract that we bid on given how we compare on product set, voice and video calling platforms, all aspects of customer service, business integrity, recidivism reduction, and safety/security. These components are what jails and prisons tell us are important to their businesses."
"We are growing our top line revenue at Classic Securus (without acquisitions) because of our market wins from GTL, making funding easier for inmates and friends and family, more and better products, and completing more calls that we used to block because we can pro-actively determine credit status. Our organic revenue growth at Securus in 2015 was +10.0%, and for Q1 2016 it is +10.7% - so two (2) double digit organic growth rates at the same time the rate per call has fallen by 10.6% in 15 months! In March, 2016, we had a rate per minute of only $1.85 – down 25.4% from what that was five (5) years ago which is good for inmates and friends and family members as well," said Smith.
"In our business, if you have double digit revenue growth at Classic Securus, with significant rate decreases – those are measures that customers including corrections, law enforcement, inmates and friends and family like the products that you deliver – or they would not use what we provide," said Smith.
