Sedona Mago Retreat Presents Seane Corn, A Yoga Teacher That Inspires Activism
SEDONA, Ariz., Sept. 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- On October 31-November 2, internationally renowned Vinyasa Flow Yoga teacher and spiritual activist, Seane Corn, will be leading a weekend yoga retreat and speak on topics close to her heart. It will take place on the sacred and mystical land of Sedona Mago Retreat, whose mission is "Love Humanity, Love the Earth." Their mission aligns with the teachings of Seane Corn. In an article in Oprah Magazine titled, What Yoga Means to Me, Seane said, "Yoga recognizes that we are all one, all divine."
"We are deeply honored to bring a yoga teacher of Seane Corn's stature to Sedona," said Sedona Mago Retreat COO Sayong Kim. "Seane Corn has a deep grasp of the interconnectedness of everything on the planet. We can learn a great deal from her about maximizing the best in ourselves and opening our hearts to others."
Seane is known throughout the world for using yoga to facilitate positive social change. But she initially got involved in yoga to simply get a little healthier. After teaching yoga for 17 years, Seane was healthy, happy, and prosperous. She had been featured in a number of national magazines and advertisements and realized that she could use her reputation to reach other yoga practitioners. On an 11:11 Talk Radio interview, Seane said that she thought, "Now what? What do I do with the joy and happiness and light that is moving through my body? Do I keep it self-contained? Do I keep it on the mat? Or, do I use the natural extension of my yoga practice to begin to express the energy outward--and for me that's what finally made sense."
In 2007, Seane Corn, along with Hala Khouri and Susan Sterling, founded Off the Mat, Into the World (OTM). Their mission is to use the power of yoga to inspire conscious, sustainable activism and ignite grassroots social change.
Seane's upcoming retreat at Sedona Mago Retreat will give participants a chance to reconnect to their bodies, and gain emotional insight that will naturally lead to assisting each other and the planet. This spiritual journey is open to all levels with no previous experience required.
