SEI Names Michael Peterson New General Counsel

OAKS, Pa., July 23, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- SEI (NASDAQ:SEIC) announced today that Michael Peterson has been named General Counsel of SEI and Head of the Legal and Compliance Teams. Peterson takes over the position from Jeffrey Klauder, who stepped down in June after 16 years in that role. Peterson will report to Alfred P. West, Jr., Chairman and CEO of SEI, and will be a member of the company's senior management team.

Prior to joining SEI, Peterson was a partner in the Global Corporate Group at Reed Smith, where he advised public and private companies on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, financing transactions, and obligations under and compliant with securities laws. He previously spent more than 20 years at Morgan Lewis, where he led the Corporate and Transactions Group in Philadelphia. Peterson practiced in the areas of Mergers & Acquisitions, Securities, Venture Capital and Corporate Governance in the financial services and biotech industries, among others. He managed complex acquisition and disposition strategies, created funds, and provided general representation of clients' portfolio companies.

Peterson received his Juris Doctorate from Hofstra University School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts in European History from the University of Pennsylvania. Peterson is a trustee of the Mills Foundation, a philanthropic foundation that supports children's health, education, and conservation activities around the world. He is also a former member of the U.S. Olympic Rowing Team.
