SEMCO ENERGY Supports Michigan In Its Development Of A Statewide Clean Air Plan
PORT HURON, Mich., Sept. 1, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Meeting the requirements of section 111(d) of the Clean Air Act will be a complex process requiring input from various stakeholders across Michigan. SEMCO ENERGY Gas Company fully supports the State of Michigan's intent to develop a State Implementation Plan to meet the Environmental Protection Agency's requirements under the Clean Air Act Section 111(d) rather than be subject to a Federal plan. Natural gas will play a key role in carbon reduction across Michigan and SEMCO believes that Michiganders should be the ones to determine Michigan's energy future.
SEMCO ENERGY Gas Company, a division of SEMCO Energy, Inc. headquartered in Port Huron, Michigan, is a regulated public utility that delivers natural gas to approximately 296,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers in Michigan. Service territories include portions of the southern half of the state's Lower Peninsula (including in and around the cities of Albion, Battle Creek, Holland, Niles, Port Huron and Three Rivers) and in the central, eastern and western parts of the state's Upper Peninsula.
