DULUTH, Minn., Aug. 30, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Bayshore Residence and Rehabilitation Center, a senior living facility that has been serving the Duluth, MN community for the past several decades, is now receiving updates from its new owners, Paragon Healthcare Group. Located on the scenic shore of Lake Superior, the center has been providing short term rehab, long term care, and memory care and will work with Paragon Healthcare Group to implement new improvements.
Paragon Healthcare Group has helped Bayshore Residence and Rehabilitation Center shift its sole focus to the care and well-being of its short term and long term residents. In doing so, Paragon Healthcare Group is helping remove the "nursing home stigma" from Bayshore Residence and Rehabilitation Center and elevating the facility to be a premier senior residence and rehabilitation center.
"We're very excited to be working with Paragon Healthcare Group," said Carrie Baney, admissions coordinator at Bayshore Residence and Rehabilitation Center. "It has a reputation for enhancing skilled nursing facilities with a hands-on approach. We've been in constant communication with the owners and they have attended meetings with local area healthcare organizations to listen to their input in order to help us develop a plan to improve our service."
Paragon Healthcare Group is very positive about the outlook for the facility and has already shown a willingness to invest and renovate Bayshore Residence and Rehabilitation Center. These improvements will enable the facility to regain its position as a leading skilled nursing facility and referring physicians have already noticed improved patient outcomes and more satisfied residents.
"We understand that the key to the success of this facility is the staff," said Jeff Deutsch, VP of Hospitality at Paragon Healthcare Group. "We are working hard to empower the staff and build morale –everyone from nurses to housekeeping – and provide them with the tools, training, and resources necessary to be proud to represent Bayshore Residence and Rehabilitation Center. We believe strongly that teamwork and individual accountability are necessary to provide the highest level of care to every resident."
Bayshore Residence and Rehabilitation Center has elected to show special recognition to our country's veterans by developing plans for a separate VA unit within the facility, which will cater to the needs of veterans. Veterans at Bayshore Residence and Rehabilitation Center will experience superior comfort and care in a warm environment. In addition, they will be surrounded by peers and receive the same recognition for their service in the armed forces as if they were at a VA facility.
Other significant improvements include a complete overhaul of the short term rehab program to accommodate Medicare patients. The changes include adding new therapies and activities, a new therapy room, more dining options, including fresh ingredients and variety, and private room upgrades.
Bayshore Residence and Rehabilitation has also invested in new training and equipment to better accommodate patients requiring specialized complex care, such as bariatric patients, wound care, and tracheostomy care.
