BOSTON, Aug. 15, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Seniorlink, Inc., an innovative caregiving company, announced today that its in-home care subsidiary, Caregiver Homes, is among a select group of early adopters of a new accreditation program offered by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). The new program, known as Accreditation of Case Management for Long Term Services and Supports (CM-LTSS), will begin next year. Pursuing dual accreditation reinforces the commitment by Seniorlink and Caregiver Homes to provide the highest quality of care and support.
Caregiver Homes, Seniorlink's unique in-home care model that supports caregivers and their loved ones with expert care teams, is currently accredited by the NCQA for Case Management (CM). It will be the first and only organization in the country to seek accreditation for both programs (CM and CM-LTSS).
The NCQA's six accreditation programs are synonymous with quality in healthcare. The Accreditation for CM-LTSS, announced July 25 2016, is the newest program for which the NCQA will offer its rigorous review process, covering more than 60 standards for quality.
Caregiver Homes has held the unique distinction of being the first Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) organization to be accredited for Case Management by the NCQA. It now seeks further distinction by becoming the first and only organization to pursue accreditation in both areas, CM and CM-LTSS.
"Caregiver Homes is singularly dedicated to the pursuit of quality, as measured by improved health outcomes and consumer satisfaction, among other distinctions," said Jay Patel, Clinical Transformation Officer at Seniorlink. "To be included as an early adopter for a new program by the NCQA is a validation of the hard work we've done to steadily improve quality for our consumers and caregivers."
Tom Riley, CEO of Seniorlink, added, "We take immense pride in any recognition by NCQA, an organization that is widely respected and associated with high quality healthcare. To be the only organization in the nation pursuing Case Management-Clinical and LTSS accreditations shows that the focus and value we place on quality runs deep throughout our organization. It is not a short-term or momentary focus – it's a constant commitment."
